Sculpted half of the wood part. The first few planks took some time to get use to but I was way more comfortable sculpting wood then the metal. Also I now realize that maybe I needed one more sub-division level on my metal. Going to go back to them after I finish the other wood parts.

Finish sculpting the metal parts of the chest so far. Not totally happy with the result so I think will revisit it again after I'm done with the wood pieces. Never really sculpted any metal things before in Zbrush so it's not coming out so well. Going to look up more references while I'm doing the wood pieces.

Bleh had to re-import the mesh from maya after adding some more geo since it wasn't sub-dividing nicely in Zbrush. Having a lot harder time sculpting this then I thought. Just got down the base noise layer and I'm trying to work using the morph targer work-flow this time. Seems really powerful although not 100% use to it yet.

Starting on the next 3DMotive tutorial series - The Treasure Chest. Finish with the block out for now. This is the first time I made an object with crease edges and bring it in to Z-brush to sculpt. Had to mess around with the crease-settings in Z-brush to get it to subdivide properly without loosing form. I  feel like adding supporting edge loops are better but  I should try to do some more crease-edge objects in the future to see.

Finally finish the model!~ Learned a good bit about hard-surface high-poly modelling through this whole process. There are one or two things that I think I need to take a look at again but for now I'm happy with the result. Now on to the next exercise! Always more learning to do~

Got the keyboard part done. Should be able to finish up the rest of the model by doing the detail pass tomorrow.

Busy day, didn't get much chance to work on the model. Finished the monitor part. Still have the keyboard area and detail pass to do. Slightly behind schedule now, hope to finish the full model within 2 days.

More progress~  Fix the small stretching issues in the back and also model the top part of the stand. Going to add the display and keyboard area next. Should be able to finish this up within 2 days or so.

More update on the 3D Motive high-poly console. Re did the bottom base part to have no ngons and more equal quads instead. Still trying to fix a small stretching issue at the back of the middle section of the stand before moving on.

A friend suggested that I should study up on my high-poly before modelling more. So now I'm following the 3D Motive tutorial first.

Got some more high-poly work done today. Tested the baking on the turn knob as well as the metal standing plate.

Finally got back from the holidays. Time to get back to some art! Finish up the low poly of the telescope and are starting on the high-poly. Did a test bake on the bottom piece for now.

About to leave on holiday with the family again for a few days. Manage to start some hand painted tile texture as well as the block out of the next model. It's going to be one of those paid sight telescope. Going to finish them both  up once I get back~

Finished up the high-poly knife. There are still a few small things that didn't come out right. But it was good practice nevertheless. On to the next!
